2013 Teen Choice Awards analysis: Maggie Q, Lyndsy Fonseca have ‘Nikita’ showdown

Teen ChoiceThus far in our Teen Choice Awards coverage, we cannot really say that the Choice TV: Action categories have been extremely competitive. This could change somewhat for the ladies, but mostly thanks to a pair of women who are on the same show. “Nikita” may not be a ratings monster, but their fan-base is seriously devoted. The only thing that they may want to be careful of here is accidentally canceling each other out with voters split.

Of course, these articles are not just about what we think. We also want to hear from you in the poll below, and if you want more from the TCAs here at CarterMatt.com, than this link for the latest updates.

The nominees – Lyndsy Fonseca, “Nikita” (The CW), Lucy Liu, “Elementary” (CBS), Grace Park, “Hawaii Five-0” (CBS), Maggie Q, “Nikita” (The CW), Monica Raymund, “Chicago Fire” (NBC)

The favorite – Even with the competition, we’re going to say that Maggie Q has got this in the bag. When you look at some of the other shows nominated here, Lucy Liu is really the only other name that could get votes because people have heard of the actress (but not because she is outstanding on “Elementary”). So long as the dedicated fan-base shows up, we’re probably looking at a similar situation to Nina Dobrev battling Kat Graham: Most of the votes will tilt to the leading lady.

Who should win – We’re tempted to go with Fonseca just to level the playing field, but the truth here really is that this is Maggie’s award, and she deserves it for the work that she’s put in on this show over the years. Yes, she can take out bad guys like nobody’s business, but her actual acting talent is sorely overlooked.

If you want to cast your actual vote for the August 11 show, the best way to do so is at the link here.
