‘American Idol’ notes: Adam Lambert on new song; Kelly Clarkson, David Archuleta videos
For today’s “American Idol” news, we’re going to start things off with some more information on Adam Lambert’s recent Life Ball song “Love Wins Over Glamour,” which made quite the impression over the weekend in Vienna.
So is this song going to be a part of Adam’s third album, or does it have much of a life at all beyond this event? While it was a pretty catchy track, it doesn’t sound like it will have much of a future now at all. In a new post on Twitter, Adam confirmed that this performance of the song was really it, at least so far as to when it comes to whether or not it has a future on an album:
“Life Ball song was written specifically 4 this 1 time only costume ball & charity event. It’s life was short but will live on via YouTube.”
While it may be sad news to hear in some regards, there is a silver lining here. This means that there will be more new music for Adam’s next album that we have not heard, and that this could some day be the sort of rare performance that diehard fans can talk about for years to come.
Kelly’s “People Like Us” video – Check out Kelly Clarkson’s new video for “People Like Us.” It’s bright, colorful, and pretty artistic. We like the direction that she is going with when it comes to her videos lately, and while we could sit here and complain about the brand names / product placement, they help to pay for the video. Consider it a trade-off, and blame MTV for not playing music videos as much as they once did.
David talks “Broken” – Finally, a brief video from David Archuleta explaining the meaning of “Broken,” one of the songs off of his new album “BEGIN.” We’re continuously surprised by how prepared David was when it came to making videos for his fans prior to his departure on a Mormon mission. It keeps him fresh in mind, even if he is not able to do much communication himself.
If you did not get a chance to check out Adam’s Life Ball performance this weekend, you can do so just by heading on over to the link here.

David’s heart is for helping others, especially children. He has a long list of charity endeavors; Invisible Children being only one. Ten more months and he will be home, I’m sure to continue serving others. And, of course, making great music. Hopefully he will collaborate again with Jon Hunt, the lyricist of “Broken”.

David planned and left so many wonderful surprises for his fans while we wait for him to complete his church mission. His 5th and 6th albums were released while he’s gone. 10 more months and he’ll be back.

it’s being released as a fund raiser for the charity, not “for Adam.” Adam’s publicist made sure to issue the correction that it will not be a single with his name, nor on his next album.
