‘Big Brother 15’ spoilers: Casting submissions have been watched
There’s something rather remarkable about the “Big Brother” casting process, in particular how quickly it moves in the months directly leading up to the start of the season. It’s much like a game of “hurry up and wait”: You do early interviews if you go to an open call, submit a video, and then hope to get a call later on. Then, the process gets more intense as you are eventually called in, and sequester begins while producers finalize the process. There are some crazy things that can go down at the last minute, just look at last year for example as there was a contestant who was replaced at the eleventh hour, which allowed Chef Joe Arvin to suddenly be a major part of the game.
In a post on Twitter, the show’s casting director extraordinaire Robyn Kass confirmed that the submissions for the 15th season have all been watched, which means that we are closing in on decision time. Given that the premiere date is on June 26, the cast will probably be officially decided upon around the middle of next month, and then the promotional videos and photos will all be sent out.
As for the people who are not picked that make it into sequester, there’s always next year. We have it on good authority that some of the people who have made it on the show have spent time in sequester before on other seasons, only to not get cast.
We’re assuming that this news in general means that there is a plan in place to include at least some new players. There is still room for returning players if producers want, and we’re sure that it is on the table given the plan to make this the “biggest” season in the show’s history.
