Dancing with the Stars 32: Alyson Hannigan & a yellow umbrella?
Tonight’s Dancing with the Stars 32 episode is going to be chronicling the most memorable years in the lives of some of the contestants. In general, we anticipate this being a lot of fun!
For Alyson Hannigan in particular, though, the dance tonight may have a certain nostalgia baked into it — at least if some rehearsal teases are to be believed! If you head over to her Instagram now, you can see some photos of herself and Sasha Farber … ones that also include a yellow umbrella!
While it’s possible that the umbrella’s signature color may not be directly addressed on the show tonight, it feels like a clear nod to How I Met Your Mother, which Alyson starred on with Jason Segel, Josh Radnor, Neil Patrick Harris, and Cobie Smulders for almost a decade. The umbrella was a big clue to Ted’s eventual great love of his life, and led to countless theories over the course of time. While the CBS sitcom is hardly Hannigan’s only claim to fame, it allowed her to develop a big audience much as her work on Buffy the Vampire Slayer also did.
For those wondering, Hannigan’s most memorable year tonight is 2003, which is when she married Alexis Denisof. This is a chance tonight for them to celebrate 20 years as husband and wife, but also allow us to see a great routine from her. While Alyson has yet to be considered a favorite to win the show, she has had some shining moments and she certainly has a rather large voting block out there for her. We would love nothing more than to see this yellow umbrella involved in some sort of breakout dance that alters the course of the rest of the season.
