ABC’s ‘Castle’ season 6 spoilers: Where do Castle and Beckett go from here?
When your show is entering its sixth season, a change from time to time can really do you good. This must be what the folks behind the scenes at “Castle” were thinking about when they conceived some of their ideas for the finale. After all, didn’t they really leave us in a pretty ambiguous place when it comes to the Castle / Beckett relationship? The good is that there is an offer on the table, courtesy of an engagement ring, to commit and to take the relationship to the next level. The bad news? She didn’t say “yes” or “no,” and there is also the issue of the job in Washington DC.
Strangely, almost everyone associated with the show has been dark since the end of the season, and there is no word yet on what the future plans are. However, we have to consider something key that Beckett said in the episode: That she was hesitant to stay in New York because she did not know what the future held there. If it means a chance to really settle down with Castle, she might stay.
One other interesting possibility from the standpoint of storytelling is seeing Beckett actually make the trip and pull a Howard Wolowitz from “The Big Bang Theory” or Ben from “Parks and Recreation”, by spending some time working in another city while dating Castle long-distance, and then decide to come back. We have a very hard time imagining that the setting would ever shift permanently from the Big Apple, mostly because it would leave the likes of the lovely Tamala Jones, Seamus Dever, Jon Huertas, and others out of work.
Plus, there’s also Castle’s family to think about. He could certainly leave them for a move to DC if he wanted to, but this would take them out of the story to a pretty large extent.

There are still plenty of story lines to be conceived……. I think we will see Castles Father again, That would be a Martha episode………….
We still have the Senator to deal with…….Possible Alexis, in college, accepts a page position in DC that puts her in the same atmosphere as the Senator….. that could go many directions…and could it be that it is HE that is pushing to get Beckett into the FBI so he would have control over her again?
But I could see the beginning of the season 6. While all the decisions are up in the air…….. the crew are out on the hunt to solve a case….. Beckett makes a misstep that gets Castle shot and his life is in danger…….. so Beckett refuses to go to DC, but instead becomes the FBI liaison with the NYPD. He recovers, but the perp is never caught…….. This could open up a bunch of story lines for the season and season 7.

While Beckett could choose the DC job it’s highly unlikely as it would turn the series upside down. I just hope Andrew Marlowe and team deal with Castle and Beckett’s extremely poor communication skills at the beginning of season 6 so we can get back to them having more fun.
