NBC’s ‘The Voice’: Adam Levine signs development deal for future projects

Adam Levine is apparently not happy with just being a coach on the popular NBC singing competition “The Voice”. He wants to leave the door open for some projects in the future, as well.

Following the success of the show the past four seasons, in which Levine has firmly been a part of since the very beginning, The Hollywood Reporter has claimed that he along with his longtime manager / producing partner Jordan Feldstein have inked a one-year deal to develop future scripted and alternative programming for the network that has already expanded their public reach mightily. This is not the first time that Levine has been in the development game, and nor is it the first time that a coach for “The Voice” has tried his hand at this. (Cee Lo Green was working on a sitcom for quite a long time, but it didn’t really go anywhere at the end of the day.)

In a statement announcing the news, here is what the network’s president of alternative / late-night programming Paul Telegdy had to say:

“It would be impossible to quantify Adam’s influence and importance to the success of The Voice … Given those enormous contributions, we’re very anxious to work with him and Jordan to see what future shows they develop that can find a home here at NBC.”

Levine has had himself quite the crazy past year, especially when you consider just how much he has diversified his portfolio. His band Maroon 5 has been on tour, he’s released an album, there was a guest spot on “American Horror Story,” and he also hosted “Saturday Night Live” for the first time.
