‘The Good Wife’ season 5 spoilers: What’s next for Kalinda and Cary?

As it turns out, Alicia and Will may not be the only pair on “The Good Wife” that could benefit romantically from a change of scenery. After all, you can make the same argument about a pair of other familiar faces in Cary and Kalinda. Thanks to their work environment, it is hardly a place where romance can really bloom on a semi-regular basis. However, working separately means that the time together is not necessarily all about work, and that for them could be very much a good thing.

In speaking on this subject to TV Guide, Matt Czuchry admits that there could be some emotional complications that come with Cary starting his own firm separate from what Kalinda is doing, but he thinks that over time the two could have a much higher chance of working things out:

“Because they’re not working at the same place, there may be a chance for more life for that relationship … Certainly there are… fences that are going to need some mending, but they’ve been able to do that in the past.”

One thing that we are somewhat optimistic about is that the prospects of these two getting together someday will help to wash that bad taste of Kalinda and Nick from our mouths. The show did a great job of rectifying this problem in the second half of this season (and possibly did even some of their best work to date), but it’s hard to dispute that the aftertaste is still there to a certain extent.
