‘Falling Skies’ season 3 spoilers: First look at episodes ahead

On Sunday, June 9, “Falling Skies” is going to try its best to up the ante over on TNT, and we now have some of the first scoop coming in for what should be a pretty exciting season of aliens, drama, and human stories. We’re still reeling over the incredible trailer shown off earlier this spring, and we’re hoping that carries into a show that needs a bump after starting very slowly during season 2.

Well, we now have some of the first details of the premiere episode, and it certainly sounds like the show has brought their “A” game for one of its main characters in the time since it went off the air. The upcoming premiere episode is entitled “On Thin Ice,” and the official synopsis suggests that there are big changes for Tom both personally as well as professionally.

“Season three of Falling Skies opens seven months after the 2nd Mass arrived in Charleston. In the interim, Tom has been elected to political office, but he has his hands full as the resistance continues to battle the alien invaders. Tom’s decision to have the rebel skitters fight alongside humans creates tension and raises suspicions that someone may be feeding secrets to the enemy. Meanwhile, Hal struggles with nightmares that seem so real, he has difficulty knowing if he’s awake or dreaming. And Tom and Anne prepare to welcome their baby.”

Of course, the show managed to release this synopsis without spoiling anything when it comes to one of the biggest cliffhangers out there about the season right now: Whether or not we are going to end up seeing the new aliens that seeming entered the picture during the closing seconds of season 2.
