‘The Big Bang Theory’ season 6 spoilers: Sheldon and Amy in a strange place
On Thursday night’s new “Big Bang Theory” season 6 episode, you are going to have an opportunity to see the appearance of Bob Newhart as Professor Proton, a personal hero of Sheldon’s from some his early years. In moving beyond that to the episode airing a week from Thursday (and the penultimate one of the season), you are going to see Sheldon and Amy in a place that you would rarely imagine them to be: in the bedroom! After all, neither Sheldon nor Amy appears to be sick, and it does not look as though likely Sheldon is getting ready for bed and she is desperately following him into the room.
So what are we looking at here? It’s possible that this could be the beginnings of a possible “breakthrough” that has been hinted at for one of the characters near the end of the season. Sheldon has warmed up to the idea of getting closer to Amy physically than he has in the past, and the two getting to the bedroom is a good start when it comes to that.
However, it should be noted that Sheldon also seems just as interested in what looks like a Dungeons & Dragons book on the bed. Who knows? Maybe a little LARPing using some D&D rules could be a gateway to something else?
What “The Big Bang Theory” has done such a bang-up job of doing over the past six seasons is finding a way to slowly evolve the characters in their final episodes. Who would have imagined a married Howard earlier on in the series’ run, or Sheldon even referring to another human as his girlfriend.
