‘American Idol’ notes: Scotty McCreery, Crystal Bowersox, and season 12’s plan

We have a few different topics to cover in this “American Idol” notes for the day, but it seems appropriate ultimately to kick things off by discussing what is going to be happening over the next few weeks in regards to the “save.”

So will this be used in order to keep Candice Glover, Angie Miller, Kree Harrison, or Amber Holcomb around? It doesn’t seem like it. Rather, TVLine reports that the show is actually going to be phasing this save out of commission for the year, and thus will focus on a “contingency plan” that was put into place in the event that the save was never used during the eligible weeks in the competition. The publication’s source would not specify what this “plan” is, though if we have to guess, it is probably just a way in which to spread an elimination over two weeks while keeping the results shows exciting.

Now, let’s move on to talk about a pair of former stars of the show.

Scotty talks new album – Are you ready for some new music from Scotty McCreery? He already has a new single in “See You Tonight,” and he also told Billboard in a new interview that when his new album comes out, you are not only going to have “current” music to tear up the charts, but he also wants to show off an older, more mature side:

“You are going to see a more mature Scotty … You’re going to see the country roots that I love. I grew up on the old stuff.”
