ABC’s ‘Revenge’ season 2: Get animated with sleek new ABC promo

You may still be waiting over two weeks for new episodes of “Revenge” season 2 to come on the air, but ABC was at least kind enough this week to come up with something new and rather cool in order to promote the series: a sleek new promo that takes an animated look at the likes of Emily Thorne and some of the other characters almost as they were characters in a spy flick.

While it is hard to necessarily label one specific reason why the video works, it’s really just for its overall affect: it is sleek, sophisticated, and it may actually draw a few new fans more to the show than just something detailing events that non-viewers would be confused by. The challenge with a sort of show like “Revenge” comes in trying to find a way to keep the viewers that you have, and then somehow expand your audience at the same time. With a story so rich, the latter is especially hard to do now that you are around 40 episodes into a season.

When the show does pick up on April 28, the biggest events to unfold will be the continued hunt by Victoria Grayson for her secret son, while Nolan tries to continue to figure out just what happened to Padma and Emily looks to take down the Grayson clan once and for all. This is something that she has angled to do ever since the early days of the show, and while she has been unsuccessful thus far, who’s to say that she will stay this way forever? After all, she is certainly motivated enough in order to try and make something happen.
