ABC’s ‘Revenge’ season 2 spoilers: What real-life show is entering the picture?

“Revenge” was certainly an intriguing enough show within the fictional world that the writers and producers have created; now that there is a major TV show entering the picture, things have the potential to get that much more interesting.

The upcoming 19th episode of the season (airing on Sunday, April 28) is entitled “Identity,” and it is going to find one Victoria Grayson in a very compromising position. What’s the reason for that? Blame ABC’s news outlet in “Nightline.” (Brilliant cross-promotion, no?) Check out the full synopsis of the episode below:

“Desperate to find Padma, Emily, Aiden and Nolan must track down the Falc0n’s true identity and put a stop to the Initiative while Emily struggles with her future and Victoria fights her own battle after a very exposing interview on ‘Nightline.'”

This is hardly the first time that a network has inserted one of their other properties into one of their scripted shows, but traditionally you see it happen more in comedies since it allows for an opportunity for newsmen to poke fun at themselves. This “Nightline” interview could be great for the actual late-night show, since a hard-hitting interview, even with a fictional character, certainly looks interesting.

As for the rest of the storylines, it’s hard to really judge given that the details are so vague. We mostly just hope that the Initiative storyline is tied together sooner rather than later, since the idea of some sort of mysterious evil entity is not nearly as exciting as villains that we know and can see in the Grayson family.
