‘The Vampire Diaries’ season 4 spoilers: Early word on ‘The Originals’ spin-off
At this point, we understand that everyone wants to know whether or not The CW will pick up the potential spin-off “Vampire Diaries” series entitled “The Originals.” After all, the backdoor pilot all about this first family of vampires is coming up very soon on April 25, and many people out there could be entering this episode’s airing with a specific philosophy in mind. They don’t want to get too invested in the episode unless the show is picked up; and if viewers really like the episode, you don’t want them to be sitting around and complaining that the network made a terrible decision.
We’ve said pretty much all along that Joseph Morgan and company really don’t have much to worry about; and based on what is coming out now, that seems to very much be true. According to Deadline, many of the executives with The CW are very happy with what they are seeing from “The Originals” thus far, and with that in mind it’s considered a near lock to be picked up to series. It’s not often, after all, that you get a show that stars characters that are already popular, and you can keep the original series (pun intended) to go along with it.
So where will the show air? The early favorite right now seems to Thursday nights, just so that it can try to pull in an audience from “The Vampire Diaries” as a lead-in. Then again, it’s also feasible that the network could put “The Originals” on another night if they are confident enough about it, and then use its ratings to try and support another show much like the flagship does currently with “Beauty and the Beast.”
When do you think “The Originals” should air on the schedule? Just in case you missed the scoop about a big-time “Vampire Diaries” actor returning to the show soon, be sure to check out the story over at the link here.
