‘The Vampire Diaries’ season 4 spoilers: Joseph Morgan spills more ‘Originals’ secrets

Vampire DiariesThere are so many different things to look forward to when it comes to the upcoming “Vampire Diaries” backdoor pilot “The Originals,” it is hard to really know just where to begin. There is the fact that Joseph Morgan and Daniel Gillies are getting more time in the spotlight, or the idea that there are countless centuries of history in here that we will be able to explore if this series gets picked up.

Of course, one of the most appealing parts of this project is merely the setting that is New Orleans. The Big Easy is where the pilot was filmed earlier this month, and while it is unlikely that all of the series will be shot there, it certainly falls within the realm of possibility that we could see a few more stops made at the city at some point during the show’s run.

With this in mind, check out the following hilarious story from Morgan (via Entertainment Weekly) that explains what made shooting in this city (or, in this occasion, a particular hotel) so exciting, while at the same time very difficult to execute on a regular basis given everything else that is going on there:

“It was three floors of balconies that looked down on the courtyard. Klaus is walking into the party, and there’s all these people feeding and doing really crazy, crazy things. So we were doing it take after take, playing this really loud music, and there were a few guests still staying there, and two things happened: First of all, we were playing the music so loud, at one point, in the middle of a take, someone opened the door and went, ‘SHUT UP! I’M TRYING TO SLEEP!’ and then slammed the door … It was everything we could do for everyone to just not burst out laughing because it was so ridiculous in the middle of this vampire party … That’s the pros and cons of filming there. You get this amazing atmosphere and these incredible characters, but you also get this amazing atmosphere and these incredible characters that you have to deal with.”

We still believe that it is a lock that “The Originals” will be picked up for series, even though no firm decision has been handed down by the network. They may be waiting until they either see a completed cut of the episode, or until it actually airs on April 25, to make their decision.

For now, be sure to share your thoughts on this spin-off below, and you can also head over to the link here in order to watch a preview for the next all-new episode.
