‘The Vampire Diaries’ season 2, episode 16 preview: Damon and Klaus debate

If you could change the name of “The Vampire Diaries” to something else, we’re pretty sure that one of the top candidates would be something similar to “Strange Bedfellows.” After all, who predicted some of the alliances that we have seen on this show over the past several episodes?

For Thursday night’s “Bring It On,” another new one is forged thanks to a pair (in Damon and Klaus) who seem to share a common goal: trying to find s esu in order to find Katherine. After all, she is the person now with the cure in her possession, and both of them want have at least a partially-common goal in finding her and giving Elena the opportunity to take it. (Of course, Klaus is really all about giving it to her for extremely selfish reasons.)

Also notable in this conversation is that the name Hayley is name-dropped, as Phoebe Tonkin’s werewolf character has found a way to get roped into this without even appearing in the episode for the time being. We know already that she is going to be one of the major characters in the proposed spin-off “The Originals” so long as it gets picked up, and in between this and the arrival of Elijah a couple of weeks after this, you can slowly start to see all of the pieces falling into place for what could be a fantastic extension to the world that we and so many others have grown to know and love.
