‘Grey’s Anatomy’ season 9 spoilers: What’s next for Jo and Alex?

Who would have thought going into “Grey’s Anatomy” season 9 that an Alex romance would be something to get excited about? It has been a long time since we really have been able to say that, but when it comes to what is going on with him and Jo, it feels like there is something well-crafted and genuine there. Rather than forcing some sort of romance upon us within the past 16 episodes, the characters have had opportunities to truly get to know each other before the feelings start to come into play now.

Based on what we are hearing for the 19th episode of the season (which airs a little later this month on the 28th), these feelings are indeed going to cause some major sparks. The title is “Can’t Fight This Feeling“), and Alex is going to be put in a pretty difficult situation.

“A gas tanker explodes on a highway, resulting in multiple injuries; Jo and Meredith try to help a frantic woman, whose child has a mysterious illness; Alex is forced to work with Jo’s boyfriend.”

Sound rough? Well, we have a feeling that it probably will be for Alex, though his problems are also petty in comparison to everything else that is going to be going on. For one, Jo is going to be preoccupied with trying to save a child’s life, and there is also one of the show’s token mass disasters to deal with.

In case you are wondering, this episode is going to be the one featuring “Scrubs” alum Sarah Chalke, whose story as the aforementioned mother is loosely tied to her own experiences. If you want to read more about her story with this episode, you can do so over here.
