‘American Horror Story’ season 3 : Did Dylan McDermott blow the lid off setting?
While some recent “American Horror Story: Salem” posters that came out recently turned out to be bogus, the talk about the show moving towards a story centered around witchcraft is something that seems to have a bit more validity to it. After all, all you have to do to hear some evidence of this very thing is listen to what Dylan McDermott had to say in a recent interview.
While speaking out to E! News at the Paley Center for Media this week, where executive producer Ryan Murphy was being honored with a lifetime achievement award, McDermott (who played a part in the first two seasons of the show) had the following to say in the context of just how perfect the recently-announced Kathy Bates is for this series:
“She really is. All the witches of Salem…there’s plenty of them!”
Of course, it’s possible to read McDermott’s comment as sarcasm, or as an intentional diversion since he likely knows already that the Salem rumors are out there (since he did say it with a smile on his face). As for whether or not he is going to return to the show for more, the actor could not say for sure given that he has a pilot that he is currently working on for CBS. While he claims that he could “juggle both” projects if the pilot is picked up, it would almost certainly reduce the amount of time that he is available.
For a bonus scoop, check out what Lily Rabe had to say about her potential new role in the season:
“I want to do something different, whatever that means. And I know that’s what will happen, because that is such a part of the project of the show … And Ryan I think was so successful with those of us that he brought back, giving us such incredible things to do. I’m really excited to go back.”
