NBC’s ‘The Office’ season 9: Angela Kinsey lines up new work on Fox comedy
As some of the other stars of “The Office” are also attempting to do at the moment, Angela Kinsey is ensuring that she has some more work lined up for herself following the end of the NBC show this spring. Originally, she had attempted to develop a project of her own, but now that those plans have stalled, reports are confirming that the actress has joined the Fox pilot “The Gabriels” in a leading role.
The single-camera series revolves around a family in Wisconsin who are fairly shy and tend to keep to themselves; however, they are surrounded from all sides by people who love to share every thought on their mind and/or meddle in their business.
When it comes to Kinsey, she will specifically be playing the role of wife to Rob Riggle’s character, and will have her own fair share of quirks. This is a character that could not be any more different than uptight Dunder-Mifflin employee Angela Martin: Gail Gabriel is described as being loopy and offbeat, and more often than not fails to gasp everything going on around her.
At one point, there were some serious worries that Angela’s “Office” character was not going to have the happy ending so many fans wanted her to, as Rainn Wilson was set to head to the spin-off show “The Farm” while Kinsey worked on her own project. However, Wilson’s show was never greenlighted past a pilot, and now a potential endgame for Angela and Dwight seems to be much more of a possibility.
Are you excited to see Kinsey’s stay on TV … at least so long as this pilot gets picked up to series? If you want to see who Dwight is going to be facing off against on “The Office” moving forward, you can do so over at the link here.
