‘Dexter’ season 8 spoilers: A new title (with a ‘Gilbert Grape’ connection)
With “Dexter” season 8 now in the process of filming, we’re pleased to at least be receiving a few assorted spoilers here and there on what is coming up, even if none of them are of the sort of information that would move mountains or really surprise much of anyone. This new story falls within the same sort of vein, but it is still very nice to know more speculation purposes.
According to show site Dexter Daily, the third episode of the upcoming season is going to carry with it a very Leonard DiCaprio-ish title of “What’s Eating Dexter Morgan?”. If this title is meant to address a number of problems that Dexter is currently dealing with, it certainly makes some sense. After all, the character is probably facing some obstacles right now including a sister that is questioning her purpose in the world after pulling the trigger on LaGuerta and a precinct that is likely in shambles. This is likely going to be one of those seasons that begins with trouble for Dexter, rather than allowing it to build up over time as we saw both in seasons 6 and 7.
Of course, the one thing that we should be very much aware of at the moment is the fact that titles can changed and they have often. Season 7’s “Sunshine and Frosty Swirl” did not carry that title for most of production, but changed to that later on as the writers realized that it perfectly represented what was going on for an episode that would lead to the introduction to Hannah McKay. (Sadly, there is still no word as to whether or not Yvonne Strahovski is going to return this year.)

Possible plot line –
Harrison is found to have serial killer tendencies in school. The school assigns a Psychiatrist.
Harrison’s brain scan is found to have the same type of markers that were found in Dexter when he was young.
Dexter works with Psychiatrist to resolve Harrison’s problem and while doing so, resolves his own problem.
