‘The Vampire Diaries’ season 4 spoilers: Scoop on Nina Dobrev, Daniel Gillies

While we may not know for sure just what Katherine wants with the cure on “The Vampire Diaries,” we are going to have plenty more opportunities to see her very soon … and not just in the familiar settings of either Mystic Falls or the tiny Nova Scotia island.

According to a report from Zap2It, Nina Dobrev’s other character is presumably set to meet up with Elijah at some point in the episodes ahead, and the two ancient vampires should get an opportunity to do so in either a New York City or a Pennsylvania Corn Festival setting. These two locations have been added to the show’s set in Atlanta, and there is certainly an interesting story to be told as to what Katherine has been up to for much of the past severla months (at least in the timeline of the show).

As for Daniel Gillies’ character, these scenes may be just as important for one primary reasons: giving us a way in which to re-introduce him to the show. Since Elijah is set to be a series regular and a key part of “The Originals” if the pilot is picked up to series, the writers have to create a scenario in which the character will actually want to stay in the same city as Klaus, but have this city be a place in New Orleans that is reasonably far away from where Elena and the Salvatore Brothers are spending their time.
