‘Royal Pains’ season 5 spoilers: Ben Shenkman promoted to series regular

If you were as sad as we were about the absence of one Dr. Jeremiah Sacani during the “Royal Pains” wedding special, and if you want some sort of reassurance that he is not going to be leaving the show anytime soon, be ready to smile at this: Ben Shenkman is now a series regular for the upcoming fifth season.

This news comes courtesy of TVLine, and guarantees that Sacani will be around in a major capacity to help continue the success off HankMed moving forward. With Jill Flint now gone, this ups the total series regular count on the show to five including Hank, Evan, Paige, and Divya.

Speaking of Divya, this is probably where many of the questions remain when it comes to Sacani. There was a legion of fans (us included) who became passionately excited with the idea of these two characters together, even with Sacani being socially awkward to the point that he struggles to express his true feelings. Unfortunately, he is facing a pretty major roadblock right now courtesy of the Divya’s boyfriend Rafa, who re-entered the picture during the wedding special as the two temporarily married, but later decided that they are better off taking things slow for the time being.

Is this relationship going to burn out? This is what Sacani fans have to hope for now, since Divya has been so hot-and-cold when it comes to Rafa in their short time together, and it has allowed her to be so impulsive that she was willing to tie the knot on the fly.
