‘Dexter’ season 8 spoilers: Jennifer Carpenter teases beginning of filming

Dexter and Debra MorganFor fans of “Dexter,” Monday marks a very important day: the beginning of filming for the final episodes of the show. Depending on what direction Showtime decides to take, this could also end up being the last time that we see the actors prepare for their first day back on set. No firm decision has been made yet on a possible season 9, and while it originally appeared as though this coming season would indeed be the last, a surge in ratings for season 7 may have changed that.

In confirming that Monday night is officially going to be the first time that the actors will be back on set, Jennifer Carpenter had the following to say in a post on her Twitter account:

“It’s nearly the night (when we start shooting.) And it’s going to happen again and again… Aghhhhh!!!!!”

Thus far, most of the actual details on the season are being kept under wraps save for some guest stars (Charlotte Rampling, Sean Patrick Flanery) and the notion that LaGuerta’s death is indeed going to be addressed in a very big way. There has been speculation about a time jump, and if there is some sort of Big Bad that the producers are casting, they are doing a pretty good job keeping it under wraps for the time being. (Then again, most indications we have received suggest that the show is not planning to go in this direction.)
