ABC’s ‘Revenge’ season 2, episode 13: Did Amanda Clarke find her perfect union?
Did “Revenge” have the wedding of the century, or one of the worst of all time? When it comes to Emily Thorne, having to watch the childhood love of her life in Jack Porter marry the woman pretending to be her must go down as a day that she would like to forget. Of course, that would be much easier if she was not a prominent part of the wedding itself.
Unfortunately, this was not the happy ending that Amanda would have expected, even if it was easy to sense that things were going to end rather badly for her from the moment she confronted Conrad Grayson about Jack’s bar. There are times in which we’ve found the battle over this establishment to be a little bit contrived, but this week it did totally work as you could sense just how badly all parties involved wanted it. Jack was threatened by Amanda into selling his stake back to Jack with Emily’s money, which is something that he was not initially planning to do.
This is ultimately where things for the couple got a little bit complicated, as Nate Ryan entered the picture with a simple offer to take the two out of the picture. Did it happen? We don’t quite know the answer to that just yet, but the start of the season made it perfectly clear that there will be a boat at the bottom of the ocean … and a body on it.
As for the rest of the story this week, there was another notable death in Helen. Why did Victoria pull the trigger out of her? It was horribly disturbing, but she did also do it at the same time to protect her son. Daniel was an active man, as he had to cover his tracks in the wake of her death just mere minutes after telling Emily that he needed to call off a potential reconciliation for the time being.
By far, this was the strongest “Revenge” episode in quite a while as it felt that there were real things happening, and things in the Hamptons will not be the same after this.
