ABC’s ‘Castle’ season 5 spoilers: First look at Jack Coleman’s return

CastleSadly, there is no new episode of “Castle” season 5 to be excited about on Monday night. (After all, there have to be some repeats for the show thrown in somewhere.) However, Nathan Fillion and company will be back in action for a new episode airing a week from Monday, and we have a feeling that this is going to be an episode that just about everyone is going to be thoroughly excited to see.

What makes “Recoil” so special? Basically, it features an appearance from Jack Coleman reprising his role as a villain we first met during the premiere: Senator Bracken, a man responsible for the death of Beckett’s mother so many years ago. While Kate had the satisfaction of knowing then just what happened to her mom, there was still no way to prove it. However, much of that may be changing now.

In addition to the rather ominous photo of Coleman above, we also have the following official synopsis for the episode:

“While investigating the murder of a young woman, Castle and Beckett find evidence that links her death with Senator William H. Bracken (guest star Jack Coleman returns), the man responsible for Beckett’s mother’s murder. Determined to finally bring Bracken to justice, Beckett soon realizes that things are far more complicated than they seem.”

Being that Bracken is a pretty powerful man, it is no surprise that he will be a pretty difficult guy to take down? But will she be able to do so? We have a feeling that this is a mystery we will not have a firm answer to until the episode actually airs. (Some secrets are better off remaining that way.)
