‘Homeland’ season 3 spoilers: Showtime still waiting for more details
Just how secretive are executive producers Alex Gansa and Howard Gordon being about the plot for “Homeland” season 3 at the moment? Let’s just say that they are not even really telling anyone at their own network at the moment just what is going to happen.
In following up what he said about Damian Lewis’ future being up to the producers’ discretion during the TCA event for Showtime on Saturday, we now have a few more comments courtesy of David Nevins that suggest that much of the future for Carrie and Brody is already starting to be paved … even if they are waiting for the writers and the producers to come and fill in all of the cracks:
“‘Homeland’ is a show that is incredibly changeable, if you haven’t noticed, and can go in a lot of different directions. I think it’s got a really long life. It’s obviously still on the rise. So I think ‘Homeland’ is in a very interesting place.
“Alex [Gansa] and Howard [Gordon] made the decision to end this season with a fairly clear set-up for Season 3, which is the opposite of how they ended Season 1 … Some things I know, and there’s a lot that hasn’t been shared with me. And I’m excited to find out.”
In case you have not heard the official premiere date for this year, “Homeland” will launch on September 29 (one day earlier than last year), and will be followed up by the new Showtime series “Masters of Sex.” This gives the network an opportunity to create two power-lineups during the year, as they have “Dexter” debuting on June 30 along with “Ray Donovan,” another promising new series.
There are still some other mysteries about “Homeland” season 3 that are out there for you to read up on, including the following discussion about what supporting roles from the show will be back.
