‘Homeland’ season 3 spoilers: Showtime talks Damian Lewis situation
So are we possibly going to see a “Homeland” season 3 without Damian Lewis? Ultimately, the head of Showtime seems to be surprisingly supportive of just about anything and everything that the writers and executive producer Alex Gansa decides.
Speaking to reporters Saturday at the network’s Television Critics Association panel, David Nevins proclaimed that if for whatever reason there was a story designed by the producers that did not actually require the services of Damian Lewis (whose character of Nicholas Brody was shipped off into hiding overseas at the end of season 2), it was something that he would support:
“Everything on that show is vigorously debated. If at the end of that debate, it made sense storywise, I could conceivably say yes.”
In the end, it would still be a surprise to us to see Showtime to have a third season that did not include Lewis in some shape or form. He’s the reigning Emmy champion for Best Actor in a Drama series, and he also just so happens to be the man that Carrie wants to be with. Our prediction? He won’t be in every episode (especially some of the early ones), but he will turn up at some point before the story comes to a close.
During this panel Nevins also staunchly defended the show’s controversial season 2 storyline regarding the death of Vice-President Walden, saying that one of the natural institutions of television is being able to suspend belief. Of course, he did add that he will do just about everything in his power in order to ensure that the story stays at a high quality moving forward.
What do you think: does it make sense for Brody and Carrie to be back together again so soon? If you want to read more about the fate of some supporting characters on “Homeland” season 3, be sure to check out the story over here.

No Brody means no watching the show. Insane idea to remove him.
