‘The X Factor’ USA notes: Carly Rose Sonenclar, Emblem3, Britney Spears
For this latest bit of “X Factor” USA notes, we’re going to start things off with what has been a whirlwind 24 hours for a certain mentor on the show in Britney Spears. Not only is she formally not a judge on the show any longer, but she is also single after breaking up with her fiance of over a year.
Let’s start with her official statement about her time on the singing show, where she got Carly Rose Sonenclar to the final two and also pushed Diamond White into the top five:
“I’ve made the very difficult decision not to return for another season. I had an incredible time doing the show and I love the other judges and I am so proud of my teens but it’s time for me to get back in the studio.
“Watching them all do their thing up on that stage every week made me miss performing so much! I can’t wait to get back out there and do what I love most.”
Britney’s exit is of course no surprise, especially when you realize that she is in talks with several Las Vegas establishments about opening a residency … one that will bring her money that Simon Cowell cannot even match (and this would probably be much better for her anyway).
When it comes to the split, we were concerned about her relationship with Jason Trawick the moment it was revealed earlier this week that she had signed up with a new agency in CAA. The two actually broke up a while ago, but wanted to wait until he was taken off of her conservatorship to reveal the news publicly.
As for Carly Rose, neither she nor Diamond have responded to Spears’ exit publicly. While she was not the best judge on the planet, she did seem to be a fairly supportive mentor who listened to what her contestants wanted to do on the stage. (After all, Carly never had the same sort of bizarre production behind her again that she did the first week.)
Finally, and Emblem3 update – While we are still quite a ways away from Emblem3 releasing any sort of new music, it is worth noting now that they are taking some time getting to know someone who will be rather invaluable in their careers moving forward: Joel Madden. The Good Charlotte member is one of many people helping the trio on their upcoming debut album.

Despite her personal struggles, Britney has managed to survive in the music industry. She has outlasted so many people who’ve had one hit wonders. Her impact on music will outlast any upcoming groups like fifth harmony and emblem3. Her first album is older than Carly Rose.
