‘Once Upon a Time’ season 2, episode 11 preview: Hook vs. Rumpelstiltskin is on

Robert CarlyleIf you were wondering just how long it was going to take for Captain Hook and Rumpelstiltskin to meet face to face on “Once Upon a Time” season 2 in the present day, you’re about to have your answer. On Sunday night’s new episode, “The Outsider,” Hook is going to come out of hiding in enough time to meet his rival, and this should make for an encounter that is more than a little interesting … especially considering the fact that Belle is now also in play.

While this fight appears to be both epic as well as significant to the story, there are also a few other interesting issues that Hook’s arrival to the town represents. For one, Emma and Mary Margaret should be able to make the connection (if Rumple spills the beans about the new visitor) that Hook being in town means that Cora is, as well. If that’s the case … well, then they should be able to figure out that she certainly has the magic to disguise herself as Regina and frame her for the “death” of Archie.

But will Emma and Mary Margaret be too blind by their anger at Regina to even consider this as a possibility? Sadly, this is one mystery that is not addressed in the promo, as the focus is placed instead on Rumpelstiltskin learning a way in which for him to leave Storybrooke and really begin the search for his son. Is it possible that his son could end up also finding him? In a word, the answer here is “definitely.” Ethan Embry is stopping by soon, and his character, along with Michael-Raymond James’ Neal Cassady, have to be leading candidates at the moment to be Baelfire.
