‘Here Comes Honey Boo Boo’ celebrates New Year’s Eve with Anderson Cooper

As if there was any way that the brilliant New Year’s Eve show featuring Kathy Griffin and Anderson Cooper on CNN could be even more ridiculous, they found a way to make it happen … and Alana “Honey Boo Boo” Thompson at this very moment is the person to blame.

For whatever reason, the famous “Here Comes Honey Boo Boo” star was allowed to stay up a little later than usual in order to be interviewed by Anderson and Kathy, which is somewhat questionable in itself considering how foul of a mouth the comedienne has. Was she really able to contain herself to handle the master of “a dollar makes me holler”?

As it turns out, this really ended up being the interview the equivalent of getting the air let out of our tires. Kathy was stunned into silence for whatever reason during most of the interview, and did not really say much of anything likely out of fear of scaring the child into submission. Honey Boo Boo was also extremely sedate as well; she seemed uncomfortable and tired (even though she said it was not past her bedtime), and really only got in one catchphrase over the course of the interview while she spent most of the time waving.

Following the chat, Kathy quite possibly had the most important question of all: why exactly did we have this interview as a part of the special? We’re not trying to necessarily slam Honey Boo Boo here, but there just wasn’t anything of substance here, and you could have gotten someone who was a little bit more of a home run.
