Anderson Cooper and Kathy Griffin: Is this the best New Year’s Eve telecast?
It’s almost ironic in a way that one of the most serious places for news has the most hilarious New Year’s Eve celebration year in and year out, but this is just the way in which things have transpired courtesy of Anderson Cooper and Kathy Griffin. As a matter of fact, we’re not quite sure that there is any other show out there worth watching on the same level.
If you want to listen to music from the likes of Justin Bieber, then yes, you should probably watch “New Year’s Rockin’ Eve” instead. But what Anderson and Kathy bring to the proceedings is a sense of sheer comedy (intentional and unintentional) that keeps you talking for days. Kathy is a smart and topical comedian, and Anderson is as professional of a newsman as they come. Putting them together? Let’s just say that it is a match made in TV heaven.
Here’s a couple of statements to show you in advance how “excited” these two are to be a part of the show this year:
Cooper – “As always, I await New Year’s Eve with Kathy Griffin with grave reservations and tremendous fear, and I want to apologize in advance to anyone she may offend/assault/attempt to kiss.”
Griffin – ““I don’t know what Anderson has been doing this past year. I assume he has been sitting, eating Bon Bons in his mother’s apartment watching reality TV, while I was helping spread democracy in Egypt or Syria or whichever … Oh, and did I mention we’re giving away puppies at midnight?”
Just in case you want an even better sense of what to expect here, the video below has some of the highlights from years of the show gone by … including the 2012 show where Kathy started to take her clothes off.
