‘The Vampire Diaries’ season 4, ‘Hart of Dixie’ season 2 star in new CW promo
Do you want to see a few assorted scenes from some upcoming episodes of your favorite CW shows? Well, we may have your hookup here courtesy of the latest promo from the network that features everything from “The Vampire Diaries” to “Hart of Dixie” to even the newest show coming up in “The Carrie Diaries.”
The promo is very effective in highlighting one thing above all else: that while many other networks (CBS, Fox) are in many ways languishing with a lack of new content that is drawing young viewers, this network is flourishing. “The Vampire Diaries” has seen ratings increases at times this year, and “Arrow” has quickly proven to be the most-successful series for them ever since Ian Somerhalder and Nina Dobrev first graced the small screen together. In addition to that, “Hart of Dixie” has been a reasonably steady performer, and while “Supernatural” may be in its eighth season, we’re not quite sure that there is another show on TV these days with a fanbase as devoted.
By giving “The Carrie Diaries” such prime billing here, executives are also apparently convinced that they could have another major hit on their hands here courtesy of the “Sex and the City” prequel story starring AnnaSophia Robb. Of course, its lack of staying within the canonical grounds of the Sarah Jessica Parker series has been well-documented here, but just because it has made many changes from the original Carrie Bradshaw story does not mean that it necessarily has to be bad.
All in all, we’re excited for what The CW has coming up, and this is without even really going in-depth into “Cult,” a series that we are probably more excited for than any new show airing in the first two months.
