‘The X Factor’ UK: Is Olly Murs being replaced by Rylan Clark?
Are we about to see a changing of the guard for what may be one of the most entertaining aftershows in reality TV history? Based on at least some of the early rumors floating around the internet, it already appears as though Olly Murs’ days on “The Xtra Factor” could be over as the former contestant (and international star) may be leaving the show in order to better pursue a music career. Even if he just sticks around for the live shows (which is what he did this past season), that is still a good few months in which he cannot really be touring much and has to be centrally-located in Britain.
Speaking to the Daily Star, here is what a source had to say about Olly’s potential exit:
“Olly loves being on the show but there’s no way he can do it next year if he wants to crack America. He had to cut short supporting One Direction on tour this summer and he doesn’t want to do that again next year.
“He doesn’t have to decide yet but he’s made it clear he’s 90 per cent certain he won’t be back.”
If Olly does go, it will be a huge loss as his chemistry with Caroline Flack is hilarious and totally makes “The Xtra Factor” at times even more entertaining than “The X Factor” itself. However, the good news is that there may already be a worthy replacement lined up in Rylan Clark, who sources believe has a much better future as a TV presenter and entertainer than he does as a singer.
Rylan, like Olly, has a busy 2013 planned, as well. However, he is at the moment rumored to be a part of “Celebrity Big Brother” rather than embarking on any sort of international promotional tour.
