‘Spartacus: War of the Damned’: Check out the new official trailer!
On Friday, January 25, Starz is going to be bringing us back into the world of Spartacus courtesy of the latest installment “Spartacus: War of the Damned,” and based on the latest full trailer released by the network Sunday, it is looking more and more as though we are going to be in for a rather bloody affair.
There is not necessarily any one enormous plot spoiler thrown into the clip below, but there are a number of small hints at what is to come: from final battles to lust to bloodshed … which is of course topped by more bloodshed. There is really no question that this is one of the most-violent shows on TV, and week in and week out if feels like someone’s head is going to roll. And while no one can ever be the late, great Andy Whitfield, Liam McIntyre has done a pretty phenomenal job taking over in the lead role as of late.
So will the show go out with a bang? We’re hoping so, since at this point this is really a show that Starz actually needs desperately to perform well. Their most-recent original series in “Boss” was canceled after two seasons due to low ratings, and “Magic City” has yet to really be much of a warrior in its own right (even if it is a show that has done some critical acclaim). “Spartacus” still remains their flagship franchise, as it is also one of their first real attempts to take a deep dive into original programming on a large scale.
In addition to this trailer, you can also check out a new feature focusing on a number of the characters, with the executive producer and the actor explaining some of the tension that will be there for them over the course of the coming episodes.
What do you want to see unfold in the world of Spartacus moving forward? We want to hear from you below! You can also be sure to check out who from this show is jumping over to “Arrow” over at the link here.

Probably Spartacus dies in this one because he does get killed in the end but a real cool ending to this show would be if he were re-united with his wife in a different life where they are living a life they always wanted – a peaceful one.
