‘Downton Abbey’ season 3 Christmas special spoilers: Meet the latest new face!
The “Downton Abbey” season 3 Christmas special (which you can watch a promo for here) is now just over a week away, and we are already starting to get more than a little bit excited with just what we are going to be seeing. In addition to the likes of Matthew, Robert, and Cora heading up to Scotland to the estate of Rose’s family, we are also going to see chaos back at the famous residence as many of the servants scramble in order to prepare the place for an upcoming festival. (Warning: the following contains spoilers for American readers.)
So what does the newest edition to the show’s staff have to say about the experience? Speaking in a new interview, actress MyAnna Buring (best known for her role in “The Twilight Saga”) explained just how much of a warm and wonderful time she had taping her scenes as Edna:
“It was amazing going onto the Downton set … I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again, they are the loveliest cast, crew and production team ever. They very much are a family, they’ve worked together for so long, but they’re the kind of family who throw their arms open to outsiders and make you feel incredibly welcome.”
Edna is the third major addition to the downstairs staff this season, as we have already met the likes of Ivy and Jimmy, who have had varying roles in the story thus far. It is a little unclear at the moment just how important Edna will be, but we have to assume she is reasonably important for the show to choose to introduce her now.
Do you want to see a new face on the Christmas special, or would you prefer the focus to be more on the characters we already know? If you want to see some new season 4 details via Hugh Bonneville, you can do so over here.
