‘Survivor Caramoan: Fans vs. Favorites’ revealed on ‘Survivor: Philippines’ reunion
The “Survivor: Philippines” finale proved to be an interesting one, as we saw a pretty strong winner to the season in Denise Stapley who not only was deserving, but was not necessarily as obvious as some of the past champions we have seen on the show.
So what else did we witness during the reunion special? There’s really quite a bit to talk about here, but our biggest frustration is Jeff Probst giving Lisa Whelchel an enormous segment to talk about religion, which has been beaten to a pulp on this show over the years. We thought that her story was somewhat fascinating, but it was worthy of mayb eabout the 40% of the time given to her (especially since some of that time could have went to Penner instead).
Elsewhere, most of the castaways came off pretty well, whether it be Jeff (who was funny), Abi-Maria (who took a long, hard look at herself), or even someone in Dana who was a pretty early boot. Probst actually gave everyone at least a little bit of attention for a change, and of course Dawson took advantage of the moment to kiss him full on the lips.
RC and Pete, meanwhile, both looked a little bit petty for trading some barbs back and forth. We agree with RC to the extent that Pete’s immunity idol move was stupid and cost all parties involved, it was almost a full year ago and you do have to move on eventually. Even Artis chose to be pleasant rather than talk about whatever beef that he has with Skupin.
We thought going into the show that the player of the season was going to be Malcolm, and we were … wrong. Maybe it’s because we could never really figure her out and felt like she was shoved down our throats.
As for next season, we are going to be seeing “Survivor Caramoan: Fans vs. Favorites” with ten returning castaways and ten diehard fans. We’ll have a piece on who these people should be moving forward.
What do you think about the idea for the new season? Be sure to share some more of your thoughts below, and you can also read our full review of the finale over at the link here.

I don’t get it. I hope that’s not real. I don’t know one single person that would say Phillip or Brandon are favorites. They were two of the most annoying people out there. The females are okay. I missed Micronesia and Gabon so I don’t know either of those people. I’m pissed that they didn’t go any further back than Micronesia tho.

If those spoiler-ed ten are real I would be pleased to see Malcolm back if he’s ready so soon. If persons remember Brenda she is a brilliant strategist – dirty as hell but smart (gives me fond Russell memories watching her). Toss Andrea in there and you’ve got your brawn, brains, social strategy trio. IF they could mesh – I don’t see them meshing though. Malcolm does a good game on his own – since he’s a bit all three himself, Brenda is opinionated and independent to the point of being bossy and put offish and Andrea could get overbearing… BUT THE KICKS (laughs) for this group are definitely, Cochran, Brandon and Philip!!! Ho, ho, ho, bring on the CRAZY! XD

It’s possible this list is right, but I’m still reserving judgment for the time being because 1) Francesca still makes no sense and 2) Survivor Sucks has been wrong before (see for example who they said won this season).

Just slowed down the credits on the reunion show and saw that Russel, Rupert and the Dragon Slayer are going to be there. YAY for the first 2, but dear lord someone slay the dragon quickly and save us from that pain and suffering again!!!!!

I’m BEYOND excited for this next season. I remember the last “Fan vs. Favorites” fondly and keep it as one of the best, in my books.
