‘The Vampire Diaries’ season 4 spoilers: Notes on Nina Dobrev, Paul Wesley

Over the past couple of episodes of “The Vampire Diaries” season 4, much of the focus has been placed on the relationship between Damon (Ian Somerhalder) and Elena (Nina Dobrev), and this of course means that Stefan (Paul Wesley) has been lost in the shuffle at times.

Do you really expect that to stay constant in the episodes ahead? If you, then you may want to re-think just how well you know this show. According to a new report from TV Guide, the show’s first episode back following Thursday’s winter finale will feature some major surprises for these two ex-lovers that will change the course of their relationship. They also occur in a rather bizarre setting: a library. This episode is set to in many ways mirror a classic movie in “The Breakfast Club,” as we are going to watch many of these trapped individuals try to figure out how to escape from a cramped location.

Before we make there, however, we do still have one final episode of the year still to come in “O Come All Ye Faithful.” Hopefully by the end of this hour, we will have a much greater sense as to what is going to happen with many of these characters, including if Elena and Damon can find a way to cut out the sire bond that is in many ways keeping them from being actually “together.” As for Stefan, we feel that he will be spending still a good bit of time with Klaus, and trying to solve the mystery of Professor Shane, The Five, and a possible cure for vampirism will be at the top of their list.
