‘Grey’s Anatomy’ season 9, episode 9 preview: First look at midseason finale
Do you want drama to close off “Grey’s Anatomy” in 2012? Let’s hope so, since there sure is plenty of it coming your way next week. Shonda Rhimes was saving most of the drama involving the longstanding characters for the winter finale Thursday night, as it features talk of both wedding and divorce. (Don’t expect much in the way of interns here.)
Let’s focus first on the positive: it’s Dr. Bailey’s wedding day! But is she going to go through with the ceremony? At one point, she says in the promo below to “turn the limo around” (which can either be good or bad news), while in another scene there is some talk about her getting cold feet while nice-guy Ben is waiting patiently for her arrival. Please, Shonda, can’t we have a wedding happen without too many sad tears?
Even if this wedding does ultimately happen successfully, there are also a few other issues that will be rearing their ugly head during this episode, whether it be Meredith feeling concerned that her pregnancy is going to end in a miscarriage or Cristina uttering the same words that we saw Owen say a week and a day ago: “I want a divorce.” Personally, we’re hoping that this quote is taken out of context for either a hypothetical situation, or she is just quoting what Owen said to her. We all know that these promos can be misleading, and they are designed to get you as nervous as humanly possible before the episode airs.
Given that this is “Grey’s Anatomy,” the last thing we can say is simple: no matter what happens, there’s sure to be some sort of cliffhanger to keep you anxious for the show to return in the new year.
Do you think we could see Bailey married and Cristina happy by the end of this episode? In case you have not heard the new comments from Rhimes about Katherine Heigl’s controversial exit from “Grey’s Anatomy” years ago, you can check that out here.
