‘Fringe’ season 5 spoilers: Jill Scott talks playing part on show

Right as you are reading this article, Friday night’s new episode of “Fringe” (entitled “The Human Kind”) is likely either airing or has come to a close. This hour featured Jill Scott as an oracle who plays a key part in helping Olivia with her mission, and the actress took part in a conference call aerlier in the week to hype up her appearance on the show.

One thing that Scott has made very clear even without saying anything specific about the episode is simply that this was a show that she was yearning to be a part of for some time, and she now feels extremely lucky that it has come to fruition:

“Fringe is one of my favorite television shows from its inception.  I absolutely love all of the science fiction of it, the mystery of it, the science in it.  The characters are wonderful and so rich.  Walter, of course, is my absolute favorite, and I had met with pretty much every company, television broadcast company in America.  I kept saying these are the kinds of shows that I want to be involved in.  I just put the word out there and, of course, I asked for it.  I believe in saying things out loud, and I had Fringe.”

The most exciting thing for Scott in many ways is that she is getting an opportunity to be a part of a show that is so late in its run, so even though she may not be a major part of the overall journey, her role will be remembered in the years following the closing credits. Can you believe that this show only has just over a month left to it? The series finale has changed dates a few times already, but it will now officially air on Friday, January 18.
