‘Survivor: Philippines’ prediction: Pete Yurkowski vs. the world

Thanks in part to last week’s game-changing episode of “Survivor: Philippines,” one of our remaining castaways is in a unique situation on Wednesday night’s new episode: win immunity, or be the top target to go home. On this occasion, the guy we are specifically talking about here is Pete Yurkowski.

The first question we have to ask ourselves at the moment is simple: is this guy going to have an underdog edit all of a sudden? Thanks to his allegiance with the “evil” Abi-Maria Gomes, he has come across all season long as a villain, and a few of his own actions (tricking Abi by turning her against RC) more or less make him worthy of that label. However, the self-proclaimed mastermind (who bears a slight resemblance to Schmidt from “New Girl” in the photo above) seems to at least be a decent player, and we always appreciate someone who goes out to the game and actually tries to play.

So what’s the situation for Pete exactly? Thanks to Skupin (who is our mover and shaker of the week) flipping to the other alliance, the only people seemingly in Pete’s corner at the moment are Abi and possibly Lisa Whelchel, who seems more concerned with being “loyal” than actually being his pal. He’s the easy target at the moment, especially since Abi has an immunity idol that she will probably play to save herself. Unless he wins this immunity challenge below, he may not have that much a chance of sticking around.

The only other hope Pete has is simple: if he does lose immunity, he will need to find a way to convince Skupin to join the fold, make the other alliance believe that he is accepting his fate, and then play Abi’s idol to take out one of them. It seems unlikely, after all, that Penner, Carter, Malcolm, or Denise would flip over to their side at the moment. Heck, Malcolm’s the only person all season who has made a complete fool out of Pete.

Sadly for the sake of the game, we’re keeping our prediction simple: Pete’s goose is cooked. Even if we don’t necessarily want him to win, we would prefer to see him stick around over someone like Carter, who brings nothing to the show and is the most tedious person left.
