‘Once Upon a Time’ season 2 spoilers: Meet a new warrior

It really should not come as a surprise to anyone at the moment, but “Once Upon a Time” certainly has a thing for female warriors. Just take a look at its cast at the moment: Mulan, Emma, Snow White, and even Red (at least in wolf form) all have a thing for combat, and you also have a villain in Regina and a young woman in Aurora who is learning to fight her way through the world as well.

So who is entering the fray of this show next? Get ready to meet Helena! According to a new report coming to us via E! News, the show is currently casting a female character who can be easily described as fearsome, as she has an arsenal of tricks that she can pull from at any given time. She also has another talent that is valuable either in this world or any other: the ability to manipulate men to do whatever she wants.

Based on the timing of this casting, it appears as though Helena will not surface until the new year, and maybe even an episode or two into that. We’re assuming that there is a deeper fairytale alter ego beyond what we are being told here, but as always producers are being very careful about just how much information they give away so not ruin any sort of surprise. (After all, they were able to keep Dr. Whale’s alter ego a mystery for over a full season.)
