Ratings: ‘Revenge’ season 2 drops again; ‘Family Guy’ returns down

Are the November sweeps really the November doldrums? After looking at the ratings for most of Sunday night’s television rights, you have to ask this very question. Most of the shows were down versus their last new episodes, and one in particular got a step closer to crossing over into cancellation. Of course, this show is “666 Park Avenue,” which is already at “Pan Am” levels from last season courtesy of a 1.4 rating in the 18-49 demographic.

Before we get into the negatives, let’s start things off by focusing on the good news: “Once Upon a Time” actually rose from last week’s Halloween-themed “The Doctor” up to a strong 3.5 rating. While it does fluctuate from time to time, you do have to consider at this point that this series is close to a lock for a third-season renewal at this point. Not only did it win the 8:00 p.m. hour for non-sports programming, it did so by a mile.

Now, the bad news. “The Good Wife” tied a series low with a 1.7 rating, and you have to consider the possibility that CBS will end the show this year even in spite of its heavy awards pedigree. Meanwhile, “Revenge” season 2 is very much in decline, as the show lost even more steam in route to just a 2.6 … which is only strange in that Sunday may have been the strongest episode of the year so far.

As for Fox, the entire animation domination lineup fell hard without the massive NFL lead-in in its return following baseball, with “Family Guy” leading the way with a 2.5. These numbers are largely football-dependent, but there is nothing in here that will be in trouble anytime soon.
