Last Man Standing season 8 premiere sneak peek: Kristin’s big news
In a new sneak peek below courtesy of Entertainment Weekly, you can see what started off as a wonderful Baxter family reveal. After all, Kristin is pregnant! It’s a big occasion for the family, as Mike and Vanessa get to be grandparents again while Eve and Mandy get to be aunts. (Isn’t it nice to have Kaitlyn Dever back for the first episode?)
The unfortunate news here is that soon after the good news is handed down, Mandy becomes upset rather quickly. She accuses her sister of being inconsiderate, and this immediately becomes a difficult situation for everyone to wade into. Kristin has a right to be happy, as she’s celebrating something that she is clearly excited about. Meanwhile, everyone else in the family has a right to know the news! It’s just hard to reveal pregnancy news in a way that is not elation for someone in Kristin’s position.
Do we think that some of this conflict will be resolved by the end of this episode? More than likely so, largely because of the fact that there is no real reason for producers to take their time with this. Also, it wouldn’t be right to resolve this story after Eve is gone from the show again … and we’ve heard already that we won’t be seeing a whole lot of her after the premiere episode, at least for a little while. (Given that Kaitlyn Dever is a Golden Globe nominee in the midst of a career high, we understand why she’s a little bit busy at the moment.)
Remember that the premiere of Last Man Standing on Fox this Thursday is a part of a one-hour event. You will have back-to-back episodes this week, and then also more on January 9 and January 16. By the time you get to the latter date, there will be six episodes already out there for viewers to check out.
