Madam Secretary season 6 episode 10 spoilers: The series finale

Next week, Madam Secretary season 6 episode 10 will deliver a story that we would consider to be all sorts of epic. This is the series finale, and a chance to see one enormous story after the next. The legacy of Elizabeth McCord is somewhat on the line as President — we only say somewhat through the lens of whatever naysayer characters exist within this world. Our reality is that we’ve seen what Tea Leoni’s character has done from being Secretary of State to President. Her legacy is cemented as one of the best inspirational TV political figures in history. What we also love about Elizabeth is that while she represents hope, it doesn’t feel out of reach. There is still a reality and accessibility to her view on the world that makes us think real politicians can aspire to something close.

So how is this story going to end? Through “Leaving the Station,” we’re going to have a chance to see Elizabeth do her best to both commemorate her time in office and also remember what matters the most to her — family. This has been her north star from the very beginning. Without them, she couldn’t be the leader we know her to be.

“Leaving the Station” – President Elizabeth McCord kicks off a new landmark political initiative with help from members of the World Cup Champion U.S. Women’s Soccer team, while Flo Avery (Cicely Tyson), who was born the day women were granted the right to vote, looks on. Opposing the initiative is Senator Amy Ross (Tyne Daley) from Ohio. Also, the McCords overcome last-minute obstacles to pull off a spectacular family celebration with a reunion of familiar faces, that includes a performance by Peter Frampton, on the series finale of MADAM SECRETARY, Sunday, Dec. 8 (10:30-11:30 PM, ET/10:00-11:00 PM, PT) on the CBS Television Network.
