Will NCIS: New Orleans season 6 withstand Lucas Black’s exit?

So what is the future for this franchise going to look like? That is certainly a question worth a LOT of discussion at the moment. Over the past week or so, we’ve seen comments both on our articles and our videos from users who have said that they aren’t interested in watching the show anymore. There will be viewers who feel that way, but the question remains whether they are a vocal minority or the majority of the show’s audience.
To date, the ratings for season 6 of NCIS: New Orleans are solid — think in terms of a 0.7 rating in the 18-49 demographic and close to 6.7 million live viewers. These are numbers that are really close to the numbers for season 5, and if the show can even keep 90% of these figures moving forward, it will be more than fine.
Losing Lasalle could be a cause for concern with the series, but it’s far from the only one. Another major thing to consider at the moment is the show’s upcoming move to Sunday nights in 2020, one that could lead to a loss of viewers on its own. That’s a tough timeslot, but if NCIS: New Orleans can weather the storm the next few weeks, it will be okay.
