The Flash season 6 episode 6 spoilers: ‘License to Elongate’

Hartley Swayer - Ralph Dibny

The Flash season 6 episode 6 is entitled “License to Elongate,” and just hearing that may be reason enough to smile. It’s a fun little tease for what could be a fun episode — and it’s got a well-known director, as well! After making her debut as a director last year, Danielle Panabaker is back doing it again! It’s a chance for her to put her own stamp on the show again, and for an episode that seems to be mostly about Ralph Dibny.

So why spotlight Dibny now? There is a simple reason for that — Barry is preparing to die in Crisis on Infinite Earths. Sure, he’d like to find a way to survive and move forward with his family and friends. Yet, he wants to prepare for the worst, and that includes helping others get ready to take on the title of Central City’s protector. There are a LOT of different responsibilities that come with that, and it’s not so simple as rushing out anytime that you get word that there is a bad guy loose in the city. You need to have a lot of focus, a ton of control, and be prepared to tackle anything/everything that is coming around the bend.

Consider “License to Elongate” a great primer for Ralph, and then also a culmination of what has been a pretty-awesome story for him for most of the past stretch that he has been a part of the show.

Below, CarterMatt has The Flash season 6 episode 6 synopsis with some more information as to what is coming up next:

RALPH GOES DEEP UNDERCOVER – Barry (Grant Gustin) turns his attention to prepping Elongated Man (Hartley Sawyer) for life after Crisis and without The Flash, but Ralph ultimately teaches Barry a lesson. Meanwhile, Cecile (Danielle Nicolet) faces her own moment of self-discovery while helping a recuperated Chester P. Runk (guest star Brandon McKnight) reclaim his identity. Danielle Panabaker directed the episode written by Thomas Pound & Jeff Hersh (#606). Original airdate 11/19/2019.

Given that Caitlin/Killer Frost isn’t mentioned in the synopsis, is it possible that we won’t see her? In theory, yes — but we may just see her and she has a little bit less of a role. That would be similar to how many other TV actors handle taking on this responsibility, since there is so much to handle.
