The Blacklist season 7 episode 4: Why Kuwait is Cooper’s ghost story
Let’s make it clear — this is the story of why Harold Cooper is the Harold Cooper we’ve come to know and care about. Speaking in a new interview with TVInsider, Harry Lennix does his best to preview this story with the following message:
“A person [Cooper] thought was dead is actually alive and is a POW in Kuwait … [Amidst the recue operation] we find out about Cooper, what precisely is the ghost that’s been haunting him that is one of the reason he is so determined to try to do the right thing in the present.”

What’s so interesting about Cooper’s mission here is that while he’s going to want to rescue this ghost from the past in Daniel Hutton, is there going to be good news when the man actually emerges, still potentially breathing? It’s something that Harold may have to worry about, especially if we are talking here about someone who is capable of exposing his past mistakes. Harold may know on some level that saving him could compromise his future … but sometimes, you can only keep ghosts hidden for so long. They can always come back to bite you.
By the end of the episode, a few more secrets will be revealed — and then, there is also the question as to whether or not Reddington will end up telling the truth to Main Justice about what happened.
