Madam Secretary season 6 episode 3 sneak peek: The dog debate
In the sneak peek below, you can see a discussion take place between Elizabeth and Henry as she goes over whether or not going for this is the right decision for her as of right now. It’s a complicated choice for her to make, mostly due to the fact that she still has loyalty to her old dog that passed away years ago. Yet, there is an empty-nest situation for the President and First Gentleman now; the home is a little bit emptier, and we say this even in spite of the two living in the most famous residence in the country. Sure, there are people around at all times, but how many of these people know and trust you?
Dogs are the perfect companion in a place like the White House — they’re loving, loyal, and there’s enough space for them to run around. Sure, you want to make sure that they aren’t going to tear up everything in the house, but a little bit of training goes a long way there. Elizabeth seems to be cool with the idea of having a four-legged friend by the end of the sneak peek, but she makes it clear that she has some conditions. Most notably, she wants to make sure that it’s a low-key search. With everything else that is going on in her life, the last thing that she wants to do is also turn her own search for a dog into the subject of headlines.
Will there still be people who write about it? Sure — just look at the sort of headlines that came with the Obamas bringing a dog into the White House. Yet, those are mostly lighthearted and it’s hardly the focus long-term of any publication.
