‘Private Practice’ season 6 spoilers: First look at ‘The Next Episode’
When we first heard that “Private Practice” was going to be doing an episode that was crafted more or less in the tradition of reality TV, we were excited; and then, we saw the disaster that was the found-footage episode of “Supernatural” Wednesday night. We were a little more forgiving of that because we know there is plenty more of the show coming up, but we also know that “Supernatural” has a little bit more freedom to do this given there is no specific end date. Shonda Rhimes has to end this show at the end of this 13-episode season, and this is a little bit more of a risk for her to be taking all things considered.
Will this be a twist that pays off? We’re hoping so, since the promo below really is rather fantastic. At first, it shows Addison and the other doctors coping well with the pressure of being followed around by cameras and being asked questions about what they are up to. But then, a pair of problems arise.
1. The cameras start to get more than a little bit inquisitive when it comes to some aspects of Sam’s person life that he does not want shared to anyone potentially watching this show.
2. A patient comes in whose life is in the balance, and suddenly the cameras are the face of evil. We really wonder why all of these shows continue to vilify reality TV, mostly because the way in which the cameramen act in this promo is exactly how they probably would be expected to in real life.
What do you think about this promo?
