Chicago Fire season 8 episode 5 spoilers: Will Cruz move forward?

Moving into Chicago Fire season 8 episode 5, it looks like there is a lot that certain characters are going to be dealing with after the crossover. For Joe Cruz, that also includes an element of personal pain.

One of the big surprises over tonight’s three-hour event was learning that Cruz’s girlfriend Chloe wanted a break … and there wasn’t all that much of a reason why. It felt totally out of the blue, and it was all the more gut-wrenching for him given that it was both coming after the death of Otis and right before he was going to propose. He’ll be nursing his heart in episode 5 … while also trying to continue his job as a firefighter.

As for what else is coming on Chicago Fire season 8 episode 5, be prepared for a big Stella Kidd story as she continued to work on some of her leadership skills. Meanwhile, you are also going to see something fun happen for Mouch — a frequent source of great comedic relief at the firehouse.

Mouch tries to keep everyone in the firehouse informed by starting a newsletter, but things quickly get out of hand. Cruz deals with a heartbreak. TV-14 D, V

Is there hope for Cruz romantically? We want to think that, one way or another, we’re going to find a way for things to work out for him. Maybe Chloe’s decision was informed by some of Joe’s recent behavior, or maybe there is something else that is bothering her. We don’t want to give up on this just yet!
