NCIS: New Orleans season 6 spoilers: Should Clayne Crawford return?
At the end of Tuesday night’s new episode, Lucas Black’s character made it clear that he is searching for his brother Cade (Clayne Crawford), and that he’s bringing in a part of his family to help protect him. He’s worried about not only his whereabouts, but also if there is someone going after them. He has to worry collectively about the future of everyone in this case.
We’ve already reported that on one upcoming episode of the show, you will see Lasalle and Sebastian Lund take off to Alabama in order to continue the hunt for Cade. Yet, there remains no word as to whether or not Clayne Crawford is actually going to return to the show.
Should he? We know that he has yet to make a primetime TV appearance since leaving Lethal Weapon, and he hasn’t had a whole lot of screen time on since even joining that now-canceled series in the first place. We have to think that this possibility is still on the table, and it’s something that could be explored in due time.
When we look at the storyline for Cade, there are really two options: He’s alive or he’s dead. It’s hard to imagine all that much in the way of a stable go-between. there’s either one way or another that this can go and have it be satisfying — you can’t just leave this out there in the air forever.
When it comes to Black and the Lasalle character, the most important thing is simply this: He deserves to have a big story like this, one where he can take on some great material and also explore some of the painful stuff going on his personal life. He’s been through a lot already in losing his father; possibly losing his brother is another big emotional spoke on the wheel. We’ll watch this play out over the days to come and in the end, we’ll get a chance to see where the story goes.
